Riesling Alsace Eguisheim Organic Emile Beyer

The estate’s vineyard that produces the fruit for this fresh, minerally Riesling is situated on the hillside above the historic village of Eguisheim, planted on limestone and marl soils. The vines have an average age of about forty years. The grapes are gently pressed and native yeasts are employed for the fermentation; the wine is aged on the fine lees for about six months. The nose shows ripe peach and citrus fruits with a hint of brioche.

Riesling, a versatile, aromatic grape variety that can be expected to have good acidity, often residual sugar and light in alcohol. It can be made dry or very sweet. Key characteristics are lime and petroleum on the nose, followed by orange, apple, blossom, passion fruit and honey on the palate.
