Matthew Clark 2024 Wine List Released

The Matthew Clark Wine List for 2024 is out now! We've worked hard to optimise our range to help our customers stay on top of changing tastes and trends in the on-trade.

Drinks-led occasions rose from 26% in 2022 to 36% in 2023 and we’re seeing customers gravitate towards easy-drinking styles and are drinking familiar grapes when out in the on-trade.

As we see the popularity of Sauvignon Blanc increase, we are excited to introduce Yealands Estates to our portfolio. Yealands Estates’ Seaview Vineyard is located in Marlborough’s prominent winemaking region of the Awatere Valley. With Chief Winemaker, Natalie Christensen at the helm, the beauty of the Yealands range is that there is a wine to suit all venues and customer types. They have an award-winning portfolio with their strength lying in aromatic white varietals – their Single Block and Single Vineyard ranges medal regularly in global wine competitions.

While California wines are still the most common US wines seen in the trade, 2023 saw an increasing number of premium restaurants featuring more wines from other US wine regions. So, the addition of the Ste. Michelle Wine Estates family of brands to our portfolio couldn’t have come at a better time. A highlight from their portfolio is Chateau Ste. Michelle, a pioneer of the Washington State wine region, and a producer who showcases the very best of wines from this lesser-known US region.

At Matthew Clark we love to work with suppliers who prioritise care for their land, the planet and their community. See the ‘Impact’ section to find out about our company initiatives that ensure sustainability is at the heart of our business.

We’re excited to share our expanded wine list with you this year. Remember that we’re on hand to help you make your wine list a success, with everything from marketing support to staff training.
